How to improve your own writing
and raise student achievement
through better writing
skills
Venue: TBC
The IWP has been successfully offering courses to improve writing
skillls for over 25 years in a variety of locations across the
globe. Beginning in Thailand and then in India,
Belgium and Panama, this programme has supported the development of
teachers as writers and as teachers of writing. A combination of
practical writing exercises, current educational theory and a
wide variety of tried and tested teaching strategies, this program
offers a valuable experience for teachers of all grade levels. In
addition to teachers, many professionals have also found benefit in
the course in both their workplace and in their personal
development as writers.
This course will create opportunities for you to improve as a
writer as well as meet the needs of teachers who want to help
students develop as better writers and achieve academic
success.
The
course will provide tailored instruction to incorporate new writing
strategies. Based on the philosophy that we learn by doing,
participants will craft their own writing pieces, respond to each
other’s work, and reflect upon the entire process from pre-writing
to publication.
For teachers, the instructors will provide tips on ensuring that
EAL students still acquiring English can successfully participate
in the writing process.
